豐臺(tái)區(qū)少年宮始建于1958年，一宮三址，現(xiàn)有建筑面積28000平方米，有120余間專業(yè)教室及多功能廳、演播室、錄音棚、青少年劇場(chǎng)及青少兒圖書(shū)館、科普互動(dòng)館等，是目前北京市最大的區(qū)級(jí)青少年校外教育活動(dòng)場(chǎng)所。

    豐臺(tái)區(qū)少年宮師資力量雄厚。目前，少年宮有專兼職教師467人，其中碩士研究生52人，留學(xué)歸國(guó)教師10人，高級(jí)職稱26人，市級(jí)骨干教師3人，區(qū)級(jí)骨干教師14人，區(qū)級(jí)科研骨干教師3人，區(qū)級(jí)青年新秀教師3人，是一支優(yōu)秀的專業(yè)教師隊(duì)伍。開(kāi)設(shè)藝術(shù)、科技、體育等60余個(gè)專業(yè)項(xiàng)目500多個(gè)興趣培訓(xùn)班，每周參加活動(dòng)的學(xué)員近16000人次。豐臺(tái)區(qū)少年宮已經(jīng)成為全區(qū)青少年的活動(dòng)中心；藝術(shù)、科技、體育項(xiàng)目的培訓(xùn)中心；課外、校外的研究指導(dǎo)中心。

    我們堅(jiān)持“面向?qū)W校、面向社會(huì)、面向廣大少年兒童”的辦宮方向，以全面育人為宗旨，以改革為動(dòng)力，以科研為先導(dǎo)，以教師隊(duì)伍建設(shè)為重點(diǎn)，以發(fā)展特色項(xiàng)目為切入點(diǎn)，以創(chuàng)建青少年健康發(fā)展的校外教育環(huán)境、培養(yǎng)優(yōu)秀的青少年人才為目標(biāo)。充分發(fā)揮青少年校外教育活動(dòng)場(chǎng)所在實(shí)施素質(zhì)教育中不可替代的作用。工作中，少年宮干部教師努力發(fā)揚(yáng)艱苦奮斗的創(chuàng)業(yè)精神；奮力拼搏的開(kāi)拓精神；扎扎實(shí)實(shí)的實(shí)干精神；團(tuán)結(jié)向上的協(xié)作精神。牢固樹(shù)立抓住機(jī)遇、迎接挑戰(zhàn)的危機(jī)意識(shí)；深化改革、勇于創(chuàng)新的發(fā)展意識(shí)；銳意進(jìn)取、爭(zhēng)創(chuàng)一流的精品意識(shí)。各項(xiàng)工作取得了突出的成績(jī)。

    少年宮“小星星”舞蹈團(tuán)、民樂(lè)團(tuán)、打擊樂(lè)團(tuán)被評(píng)為北京市學(xué)生“陽(yáng)光少年”藝術(shù)團(tuán)?！靶⌒切恰彼囆g(shù)團(tuán)作為文化交流的使者，多次參加大型演出并先后到奧地利、英國(guó)、德國(guó)、法國(guó)、埃及、阿聯(lián)酋、匈牙利、日本、墨西哥、澳大利亞、印度等四十多個(gè)國(guó)家進(jìn)行文化交流活動(dòng)。少年宮美術(shù)部被評(píng)為“北京市學(xué)生金帆書(shū)畫(huà)院”學(xué)生的美術(shù)作品曾搭載神州號(hào)飛船遨游太空。

    豐臺(tái)區(qū)少年宮先后被中央宣傳部、教育部等十部委授予“全國(guó)校外教育優(yōu)秀團(tuán)隊(duì)”獎(jiǎng)。被全國(guó)青少年校外教育工作聯(lián)席會(huì)評(píng)為“全國(guó)縣（區(qū)）級(jí)示范性青少年校外活動(dòng)場(chǎng)所”。被授予“首都勞動(dòng)獎(jiǎng)狀”。被北京市授予“校外教育先進(jìn)集體”“師德先進(jìn)集體”“聯(lián)合國(guó)教科文組織俱樂(lè)部會(huì)員單位”等稱號(hào)，國(guó)家主席胡錦濤曾觀看少年宮藝術(shù)團(tuán)的專場(chǎng)演出，教育部、團(tuán)中央和北京市領(lǐng)導(dǎo)多次到此參加活動(dòng)指導(dǎo)工作；眾多國(guó)內(nèi)外教育同行到這里參觀交流。時(shí)代在前進(jìn)，社會(huì)在發(fā)展，校外教育事業(yè)任重而道遠(yuǎn)，豐臺(tái)區(qū)少年宮全體教職工愿以“團(tuán)結(jié)奉獻(xiàn)，求實(shí)創(chuàng)新”的精神，為深化教育改革，全面推進(jìn)素質(zhì)教育作出積極的貢獻(xiàn)。

A Brief Introduction

     of Beijing Fengtai Children’s Palace & Youngster’s Activity Center

Established in 1958, Beijing Fengtai Children’s Palace & Youngster’s Activity Center(“the Center” for short) covers a land area of 28000 square meters with over 120 specialized classrooms, a multi-function hall, a sound-recording studio, a youngster theatre, a children’s library and a hall of science and technology. It is one of the biggest and most comprehensive extracurricular activity centers for children and teenagers in Beijing City.

The Center has staffed with excellent faculty, consisting of 467 full-time and part-time teachers, among whom there are 52 master degree holders, 3 teachers with city-level honor, 14 with district-level  honor, and 3  academic leader of district level. Seven departments encompass more than 60 specialties covering art, science and sports. Currently it has an enrollment of about 16000 students following regular training programs which covers up to 500 interest-oriented courses. Furthermore , it is not only the training center of art, science and sports, but also the research center of after-school education.

Under the direction of gearing education to the needs of schools ,society at large and children’s all around development, the Center with educational reform as a driving force and guided by research-oriented programs, has laid stress on raising qualities of faculty members. By developing distinctive after-school programs, the Center is aimed at creating favorable environment for children’s sound development and has therefore made remarkable achievements due to the awareness of seizing opportunity and meeting challenges, stepping up reforms in the spirit of innovation, keeping forging ahead and committing ourselves to excellence.

The Center’s “Beijing Little Star Art Troupe” has been honorably conferred as the “Sunny Youth Art Group” by Beijing Municipal Education Commission. Representing the highest level of art education in Beijing city, the Little Star Art Troupe, as a cultural ambassador, has so far visited over 40 countries, which include but not limited to Austria, U.K. Germany, France, Australia, Japan, India and etc, for cultural exchange activities. The work of art painted by students from Center’s Art Painting Department has been honorably selected for the historic mission of China’s Shenzhou VII spacecraft to go to the space.

The Center , serving as a medium for civic culture, has been awarded “National Advanced Educational Group” by Ministry of Education, “Advanced Collective of Teachers’ Professional Ethics” by Beijing Municipal Education Commission and it is also the member of Chinese Club for UNESCO.
