PROFILE:

 

-     I grew up in a respectable and cultured family. My mother is an economist and my father is a stomatologist. At home we always cherished good family, ethical and artistic values.

-     People who know me think that I am hard-working, tenacious, thorough, patient and calm, and that I am a reliable and loyal friend, upon whom they can rely.

-      I like working with children and I think I know how to build a close relationship with them. In this type of work my creativity comes to the fore and is always accompanied by a professional attitude and maximum commitment. Individual success of each student is my greatest achievement.

-      I adjust my approach based on the students’ age. The way I prepare for a lesson varies not only according to how old the students are but also to what the affinities of the group or the individual student are. Thus I believe I am a flexible person who manages to maintain discipline in the classroom, but also to keep the interest of children alive, and most importantly, their desire to cooperate with me and take the initiative in learning activities. I think it is very important in building their character, where the role of every teacher can be important and inspiring. Working with children motivates me to work on myself, and every lesson is an opportunity to learn something new. This is why the job of a teacher is a calling I would like to devote my career to.

-     When I was younger I was involved in professional rowing at Red Star Rowing Club in Belgrade. On several occasions I was the national champion, and I have won various awards. At the present moment I still try to be involved in sports on a regular basis, albeit recreationally. I lead a very healthy life; I neither consume alcohol nor smoke.

-     The university I graduated from, the profession of artist-painter, as well as my varied interests and my keeping abreast of world events, give me a humane and above all correct view of the world.

 

WORK EXPIRENCE:

 

-     Giving private drawing lessons to students aged 4 to 14. At first I published ads and answered calls, but after that initial period I decided to open a private school/workshop for drawing and painting, where tutored everybody from very young children to teens. This was a creative and wonderful job, which I found utterly fulfilling. The children were eager to learn everything about the techniques of drawing, coloring and various themes that they found challenging.

-     The Humanitarian project of painting a kindergarten in New Belgrade. Some colleagues and I organized a workshop with children and together we drew, made various figures from clay, plastics and other materials, which we later used to decorate rooms in the kindergarten.

-      Working with adults: drawing lessons for university students and seniors. Some of these people to this day keep showing an interest in painting techniques, some have won prizes at competitions, enrolled at the Faculty of Fine Arts and became artists.

-     Giving private English lessons. I have been doing this for many years, for almost as long as painting classes. I have worked with children of different ages, from 3 to 14 years of age mostly, but also with university students. The work included, depending on the year, the adoption of English words, learning sentence structure and practicing conversation, all by using various techniques and methods. For example, with the youngest of my students I used flashcards and songs, whereas with older students I used video clips and various tests for checking their knowledge.

-     Work in Helen Doron kindergarten in Belgrade from 2012 to 2014. I worked with children aged two and older, which was a wonderful experience, but also perhaps the greatest challenge. At first I found it strange that even children this young can adopt words of a foreign language. It turned out that it comes even easier to them, and that in this way they can almost become bilingual. This was an extraordinary and challenging experience, and this is perhaps what inspired me the most to apply for a job in China.

-      Translating various texts from English to Serbian and vice versa.
