Hogan Lovells (RARE Recruitment) Jan 2013 Required to work in a team on a sample Contract Law case dealing with consideration, agreement and promissory estoppel also met with some trainees and given a tour of the office. Required to correct and compose notes on a sample breach of contract document for a client, and to come to a conclusion on whether or not the client has a claim of ￡14 million against a multinational firm, improving my communication skills. First year Insight Event ? Clifford Chance (RARE Recruitment) Jan 2013 Gained particular insight into the origination and execution of the firm thereby, experiencing and understanding what being a member at an international law firm entails by conducting hands on legal research. Also, spoke with trainees (James Turner) about the role they play at the firm, gaining a more balanced awareness of the way the firm works. Fellowes Solicitors LLP July 2011 Prepared valuation of clients presenting it to the acting solicitor in charge of the case refining my communication skills. Solely managed confidential files for the perusal of the partner at the firm, developing my adaptability and time management skills. Insight Workshop – Jones Day Law firm Aug 2011 Placement in Corporate Criminal Investigations. Gained particular insight into the criminal liability of corporations. Assisted with the Duff & Phelps Case – performed research to determine the amount of criminal liability they were liable for, thereby improving my research skills. Positions of Responsibility Jam Staffing Oct 2012- till date Working in a team- waiting and bar work with full training provided for staff to represent JAM Staffing clients all over London, ensuring that clients? needs are met. Work two times a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mass Challenge UK (Operations Intern) Sept 2015- Dec 2015 Working in an office to help entrepreneurs win by helping to connect high- impact, early stage startups with mentors and investors, while providing no- strings attached support during a 4- month accelerator programme in London. Work three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays Pathways to Law Mentor (Widening participation at LSE) Oct 2013- June 2015 Mentor to Year 11 and 12 state school students providing more information about their university choices using an online e-mentoring system. Full attendance at key events including information sessions at the University of Warwick and Temple Inn International Citizen Service (Summer UK Volunteer at Cape- Town) July 2014- Sept 2014 Worked in a team of eight for the nine weeks period in a community called Mitchells Plain, thereby improving my teamwork and adaptability skills.
